Susan Sarandon
Susan Abigail Sarandon (/s@'raend@n/ (born October 4 1946) is an American actress and activist. She is the recipient of numerous accolades which include the Academy Award, a BAFTA Award as well as an SAG Award, and has been nominated for an Daytime Emmy Award, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and nine Golden Globe Awards. She was awarded a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002 for her contributions to the field of filmmaking. Sarandon began her acting career in the drama film Joe (1970) prior to appearing in the soap-opera A World Apart (1970-1971). She was a part of the 1974 TV films F. Scott Fitzgerald and "The Last of the Belles" as Zelda Fitzgerald's surrogate. The following year, Sarandon starred in the musical comedy-horror movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Janet Weiss. Sarandon received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress for Atlantic City (1980), Thelma and Louise (1991) and Lorenzo's Oil (1992) and The Client (1994), before winning for Dead Man Walking (1995). Sarandon also won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in The Client, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress for Dead Man Walking. Other films she has produced include Pretty Baby (1978), The Hunger (83), The Witches of Eastwick (87), Bull Durham (1988), White Palace (90), Little Women (94), James and the Giant Peach (1996), Stepmom (1998), Enchanted (2007 and 2008), Speed Racer (2008) and The Lovely Bones (2009, 2009), Cloud Atlas (2012), Tammy (2014) and The Meddler (2015).
