 American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born November 8th, 1967. She is best known for her starring roles as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl Mabel in According to Jim and her regular role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy.Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Courtney, who was seven years old at the time, separated from her father, Walter Smith. She was a part of both of her parents in different periods of time. She has a younger sister, Jennifer who works as an executive in the field of advertising. She graduated in 1985 from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. She also performed for the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley as she was in high school.
